Privacy Policy

Dumpstr (“Dumpstr”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Kailashchandra Sharma, an individual based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Dumpstr you agree to this policy.
Dumpstr is an informational app that shows publicly reported movements of stocks and currencies with plain-language explanations. It is not an investing, broking, or advisory service.
1. Information we collect
- Account info: your email address and name, provided when you sign up via Google, Apple, or email.
- Authentication identifiers from your sign-in provider.
- Content you create: journal notes, watchlist entries, and saved items.
- Usage and device data: app interactions, device type, OS version, and basic analytics, used to keep the app working and improve it.
- Push notification token: if you enable notifications, a device token so we can send the alerts you opt into. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.
We do not collect financial account details, and we do not ask for or store payment-card data ourselves (payments, when offered, are handled by the app stores or a payment processor).
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account.
- To provide and personalize the feed, journal, and watchlist.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
- To send essential service messages (not marketing, unless you opt in).
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
3. Who we share it with (processors)
We use trusted third-party services to run Dumpstr:
- Supabase: database and authentication hosting (stores your account and content).
- Hosting / infrastructure provider: runs our backend.
- AI explanation provider (Anthropic): we send market data (a stock’s price move and related public news) to generate plain-language explanations. We do not send your personal data to the AI provider.
- Market data providers (NSE end-of-day data and a foreign-exchange data provider): these receive no personal data from us.
We share data only as needed to operate the App, or where required by law.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
5. Your rights (including India’s DPDP Act, 2023)
You may access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, request its deletion, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email thedhruv.maharshi@gmail.com. We act as the data fiduciary for your information. For any grievance, contact the same address and we will respond as required by law.
6. Children and minors
Dumpstr is intended for users aged 13 and above. Under India’s DPDP Act, a person under 18 is treated as a child. If you are under 18, you may use Dumpstr only with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian. We collect the minimum data necessary from minors, and we do not carry out behavioral tracking of, or targeted advertising to, minors. A parent or guardian may contact us to review or delete a minor’s data.
7. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Account → Delete account) or by emailing thedhruv.maharshi@gmail.com. Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in Section 4. For full step-by-step instructions, see our Account Deletion page.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version in the App with an updated date, and notify you of material changes where required.
